I’m running W2K, IE 6.0. I access e-mail through MS exchange server using authentication. All was fine for over a year but this week it’s taking over an hour to download 2 or 3 emails after the initial logon. After that, all e-mail downloads are normal until the next morning when I logon again. I have deleted the e-mail profile/settings and re-created (using the same name) with no change. Both my ISP and network admin swear nothing’s changed. (I wasn’t expecting any confessions.) I did install IE SP1 this week but I can’t remember if it was before or after this problem but very close to it. I access this same e-mail account from home but going directly to the ISP and all is fine.

Thanks for the links but the first one points me to MS's site on how to repair IE and OE in *Windows XP*. I'm running Windows 2000. Will the information on XP still apply to Windows 2000? Thanks.

I'm having similar problems ... started Thursday, Jan 24 .... is it possible that the "Slammer" virus was loose before Saturday, and this might be a symptom?

I think slammer has been round about 10 days , that's when I first had problems .

My email has been OK all along .

Use Mozilla .

I doubt of this is slammer. I am authenticating through an exchange server through a corporate email environment. We run virus protection.

I guess I should have mentioned--around this same time, I ran SpyBot spyware and it may be possible it deleted some files. But something is still telling me is the IE SP1.
