Odd audio issue with 9508

Hello everyone:

I have about 30 9508s on an IPO 500 v2 running v7.0(12). I am getting complaints that the caller's voice is dropping out. If the caller is quiet, you will not hear background noise, then when they start speaking, the audio slowly comes back, almost as if it is doing some sort of noise cancelling.

Any ideas?
 
I am having the exact same issue... Same phones, and same IP office revision. Any ideas? Or does anyone have a link to see the thread from tier 3 support??

What kind of trunks are you guys using? Do you have a combo card in your systems?
 
I had a weird isssue with 9508's. When the customer answered a call with the reciever they could also hear the caller over the speaker phone. It was bad Combo card. I was also using POTS trucks so you might want to try changing the combo card.
 
Not using a combo card, ip500 trunk 16 module with pots lines. They do have a PRI circuit going in in a few days, so I am hoping this will resolve the issue.
 
Well I changed out the combo card yesterday, however issue is still occuring. Voices seem to still fade out for a few seconds then come back. Any other suggestions??
 
try turning off the automatic gain control on these phones. go to menu on the phones, advanced options then turn the agc off. IT appears that i have had some relif with this
 
you are not the only one who has issue with this model. I did contact AVAYA and actually managed to return those to the distributors and get full refund. DO NOT DEPLOY 9508 and 9608 in field. if you have those try to return it.
 
Can this claim be confirmed by some veterans of this board? No offense meant by asking. I just think it is a good idea to verify.

I haven't had any issues with the 9508 and 9504s I've deployed. However, I've only used SIP and PRI trunks in the systems with those phones.
 
I was just a little hesitant to accept that. We have some 9508's deployed and so far there are no issues.

A-menu --> Advanced options --> Audio -->
