Hi,

I'm a newbie to database and ODBC. I'm wondering if there are any useful information or tutorials on installing ODBC in RedHat. I installed MyODBC and the iODBC driver manager in my RedHat machine... but I'm not sure if I configured it correctly. If there's a step-by-step tutorial out there I can't find it... if anyone knows of any, please direct me.

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Along the same note, does anyone know of and has any sample application or file or way to verify my MyODBC and iODBC installation?

The iODBC manager simply controls the list of ODBC Drivers on your system as well as allowing an application to communicate with an ODBC driver. You haven't stated what database you're trying to connect to as well as what application you're using. You should find some useful information on configuring both from

Hi Emmon,

Thanks for your help. I got my drivers and database setup correctly already... at least I hope I did. I wrote some sample code using C and SQL ODBC too access a MySQL database and everything worked.

Thanks!
