Hello all,

I have a Access97 database with links to tables in an SQL Server database through a DSN.

I have permissions to be able to do whatever I want to this table, but if I open up the Access link and try to change data in the table I get an 'Recordset is not updateable' message. I can't add new records either.

Obvisouly I'm missing something here...

How can I set things up so I can use the Access97 link to add/change the records in the SQL table?

thanks...

When establishing the ODBC connection to each table, you should be prompted to provide a field (or more) which will act as the primary key. If you do not provide this information, then the recordset will not be able to be updated. Ensure also that the respective tables have a primary key within their table definitions. Cheers,
