odbc error 1919

Hello,

While installing an MSI i am getting an error msg

saying " error configuring ODBC driver" can some body plz help.

When installing DSN's with msi's you need only to provide suprisingly few details.
Most of the erros you get including 1919, is for adding information about last user or name of driver file.
Try and create the dsn manually and import it to your package.

found the soln.

Just added the ODBC registry keys in the package and deleted the entries data source and DSN entries from the from the ODBC page in wise.

It is possible to do it that way, but Wise should be able to handle it on the ODBC page.
Are you using Wise for Windoes Installer ?
Could you post the entries you have ?

I am using wise for windows installer.

for system DSNs
There shud be 3 entries HKLM->SW->ODBC->ODBC.ini
1)ODBC DATA SOURCE
2)ODBC File DSN
3)One of the application

2 entries in HKLM->SW->ODBCINST.ini

1)ODBC drivers
2)One of the application.

Actually u shud create a DSN and see the changes made in the registry. Add those registry entries in the Wise.
