ODBC Driver errors? - dbnmpntw?????8

Trying to connect to a SQL 7 server. One way connection ok, however when I try to connect to a Win2000, SQL7 server from NT4 SQL 7 server recieve following error:

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][dbnmpntw]Specified SQL Server not found.
Any help gratefully recieved!

Can you ping the server from the NT4 box? Tom Davis

The error indicates your client config is set to Named Pipes which is the default. You might want to try a different client setting on the nt4 box, probably tcp/ip.
