ODBC - call failed
[microsoft][odbc visual foxpro driver] Unrecognized index file revision. Re-create the index (#141)

I am linking tables in a FoxPro database to Access through ODBC. There are approximately 25 Foxpro tables I am linking into Access. One of the FoxPro tables creates the above error message when Access tries to link to the table via ODBC. The error causes Access to crash. All the other FoxPro tables connect with no error messages.

Hi Dastaub,

I answered a very similar question earlier today. Was that also from you?

My suggestion was to use the FoxPro OLE DB provider rather than the ODBC driver. The ODBC driver has not been updated since VFP 6.0, and accessing databases or tables created with later versions are liable to fail.

If you swith from ODBC to OLE DB, I think you'll find Access is much happier.

Mike
