Hello,

I am using VB6 with Crystal Reports 4.6.1.0. When I run the application on either the development or new machine, on frequent occassions, that lovely Microsoft message "You have performed an illegal operation .....the program will now shut down" (or something like that) comes up and the program must be shut down.

On examining the details the specific error message is "The application caused an invalid fault in module crystl32.ocx at 017f:250127fb". What exactly do I need to do here. Do I deregister the crystl.ocx file (if so please let me know what the command should be (I think I know the start)) and re-install it (is there a site where I can download this .ocx file?) or is it a dependancy file issue??

Thank you

Just a thought....do you have SP3 of Visual Studio installed. I got some mysterious crashes using ADO recordsets that disappeared after installing the service pack.

SP4 is now available on msdn.microsoft.com

Chip H.
