Hi

I have a VB application which is in a executable when i try to install in some machines it gives an error EDT32x30.ocx cannot be registered. this is a problem with only a few machine whereas there is no error in any other installations all machines run on Win 98. Please let me know what could be the problem or if u have faced this kind of problem what is the solution.
I have tried formating the PC and reinstaling win 98 but same problem.
Thanking you in advance

Swami

Maybe it is depended on another dll which is not on every system?

Greetings,
Rick

Thanks for the reply.
But which DLL how do i find out that.. Also it is the same win 98 installation and nothing else which is installed in the same procedure.. so whr is it missing

If both installations are exactly the same then I wouldn't know what's wrong....

Greetings,
Rick

Thanks Rick

Let me hope somebody who had this problem before would help me out

You said the vb app installs without problem on other win98 boxes. I would compare their ST6UNST.LOG files, if you used the Visual Studio, Application Deployment Package to create your installation. You will find it in the directory where you setup the application. If not check the setup log files for the installation package you used, e.g. Installshield, Setup Specialist, Wise Setup.

Are you running another application that requires this "EDT32x30.ocx"? Such as Real Estate Assistant!
Then check out this link:

What components or other dlls does your application use?
You can use these to find out:

depends.exe >>filemon.exe >>regmon.exe >>
With filemon.exe and regmon.exe you can filter out the application you want to investigate, otherwise the pcs would freeze. Just run them for a short time and save the output to disk.

Hope this helps
