Octel voice mail and Nortel

We have Octel voice mail. We also have Nortel 81c switch. I built a menu on octel and have options to go to 2 queues. When the call goes from Octel menu there is a delay and you have a message that says connecting as well.
I don't know much about Octel . Ive worked with Meridian before an this delay was not happening. Any ideas?

 
that can be a tough problem.. two things i would try. how is the call getting to octel? maxp 1 acd? or hard forward? dial that dn then #, to see if that speeds it up.. another thing i would try is do an entc on your tn to see if that helps spot the delay

would turn on the active trace for one hour, if you get out of ld 80 you stop the enhanced trace.. post your results, one of us will try to help

The call is going to the Octel via an 800 line from Bell.
I will try tracing the tn.
 
When I try and trace the call the message says TRA305
Which states multiuser feature is not active. Go to load 17 and enable. Will thus effect other things if I do that?
 
multi user will not cause any enduser change..

the 800 number comes in on? analog trunk card, atdn to octel or pri did/dnis to octel?.. and if you dial that dn do you get the same delay?

The 800 line is pointed to a DN on our switch which is built as a phantom number. The phantom sends the call to Octel voice mail and the number is built as a menu. When the options are played for the menu. The Octel voice mail says please hold. The agent when the call comes in hears a beep sound and must say something . Then the call comes across.
 
I do get the delay when Octel sends the call to the nortel switch.
