Octel Sierra - Drive Installed but not running

The Sierra states that the M04 is installed but not running,
how can I get it running once again?

Well that may be a problem as it has stopped on it's own. you can try to reenable it but most of the time this means that the drive has gone bad and needs to be replaced via the drive replacement utility. Do you have access to the drive install options?

And would I need the service bit to access this

Yes you would need the service bit but try accessing the system via the modem and you should have access to menu 20

Question? The LED shows the drive running, but the OS says that M04 is not enable, does shows signs that the HD is running?

Bottom line... I would like to get rid of the messages in the MBs that state unavail, this would take of my trouble tickets, is there a way to delete the message pointers?

you need to run a garbage collect to clear the pointers but if it is more that 50 users you will need the Eng bit on to complete it. I know how to turn the eng bit on but only by taking the system off line first.

have you tried to enable the drive yet?

No I have not enable the drive, I cant anything in any online menus to do such. Is there away to enable with the system online or this done via offline menu 20. If such would I need the Eng bit to access offline menu 20?

I will have to look up my notes on this one i think you can enable on line but are you telling me you can't access anything in menu 20 if it is online? If you call the RDAC the service bit is always on.

All i have is Rel 3 and above and it looks like you can't acces the drives if the system is online at your software level. If you would like to speak further let me know.
