Upgraded a Meridian Opt11C PBX from Rls.25.30 to Succession 3.0. This PBX had remote voice mail from another site that had a Opt61C with a Octel Server intergrated to it with 2616 ports. After the upgrade to the Opt11C, when calling into the Opt11C user mailbox from the outside, the host location said "not a valid mailbox". Found out that the host Octel server only saw the first 2 digits of the extension and lost the last 2. Was able to fix problem by re-prg the CDP tables in the Opt11C, but why was this HAPPENNING.....Nortel said that with Succession 3.0, the re-direction number was 10 digits long instead of 4, causing the wrong digits to show in the filed that Octel reads for the vm box...confusing, because in other Meridian 25.30 software, I saw the same....WHATS GOING ON....ms1274

Wish i could tell you it sound like they changed something on the nortel side but you may be able to have the call setup tables changed in the octel to compinsate for it.

when you say redirection number what do you mean ?

Are you using FLT-N's ? or PIC-N's?

Also just fyi it may be a setting in the octel as it will see 10 digits for intergrated calls.

Can you post you menu 1.1 and 1.2 both pages?

Ken...the re-direction number is in the D-Channel message from the Nortel Meridian, that is sent across the PRI connecting the Remote users of the Octel to the other PBX site that has the main Octel server. All the voice mail is Octel and all the PBXs are Nortel.. hope this helps you understand whats going on...thanks...Mark

Just for info are you using all flt-n's for the connection to the nortel or are you using a dmid

Just FYI this is not the first time this has happened. A few years ago when the ANI was just coming out Nortel did a shift to the screen and added a * that did not show on a phone but it moved what you could see on the screen and we had to have a patch installed on some of our customers Octels.

If Nortel was smart they would put the SMDI back into the
PBX like it was many years ago and thing's like this would not be a problem
