Anyone know the commands to add, copy, list mail boxes on a system running ver. 3.0.0-2 software. There's no menu interface that I can find/get to. Typeing HELP at the "@" prompt lists several cryptic commands but only a couple are obvious on what they do.

Thanks!

Hi mkubic,

Yep seen these myself so i know what you mean.

Assuming you'v entered the password, try the question mark after the prompt instead of help (@ ?)You shoudl see the first list of commands.
You may not see it from the list but on the higher versions(4.0)from the prompt we would then put "U" which i think means user. From there do "?" again to get a list of futher commands.

Hope this helps.

are the command line features only available when accessing through the lan card?

Your system does not have a command line interface. I beleive the original reply, was talking about one of the original VMX systems, now supported by Avaya. By teh serial number on the screen shot you posted, you have a Lucent/Octel Sierra, it does not have a command line interface.

Teletubby5e,

What emulation are you using to get to your system? I have a similar system and no matter what emulation I try the screen is disorganized and the system will not accept a command. The screen shot you supplied though has the same choices as my system.

Thanks in advance

For the Octel 200/300 from the @ prompt type u (enter)to get to update ". prompt" you can then type:

l u = list user
a u = add user

to leave update type e (enter) to get back to the @ prompt

teletubby5e - The system you are using is an Octel Aria, quite different from the Octel serenade. Serenade is commad line driven, whereas the Aria is menu driven from a terminal (normally Procomm or a dedicated direct terminal PC)

As far as I could tell there's no way of getting a command line into the Aria. :(

Thanks for the reply, I have been out of this area for a while, but we ordered the book from Octel, and got our programmers to write some scripts to do batch dumps. It was more like SQL looking commands if I remember correctly than your usual MML or TL1 commands. Nothing like ENT-TN or anything that made sense. So it was doable, just took some doing. An individual would be hard pressed to accomplish it by himself. Took 2 days to get talking through the port in the back. Wont work going in the usual terminal comm port. Anyway, I stuck with my Procomm scripts and got 'er done. But the Voicemail group of CenturyTel in Monroe could steer you in the right direction as far as the programming interface, etc.

Thanks again!

Sorry to jump in here, but this is about the same problem I am having. I have been given the please to check the outcalling numbers of a system we have in Amsterdam. I only have Telnet access to it which I have never used. I'm looking to get the same CDR information that I get with my Octel in house. I use the same menu as teletubby5e and im lost in the command line interface and have no Docs on it.

Can someone give me the procedure to check for a number that is being outcalled from the Octel via the command line. In my system I go to menu 20, then 13
and select option 2. I search on event 19.

Would like to do the above using the command line, or if someone know who I can get the menu to display (if possible) in this system, would even be better.
The system has SYSTEM SOFTWARE RELEASE S.4.0.0-2 (04/30/99)
thanks for any suggestions

It is a Serenade system you have there with a totally different interface. To check for outcalling numbers (Offsite Pager Number), from the @prompt type:
@L MBX and then enter the mailbox number. This will give the required information for that mailbox.

Thanks for the quick replay, guys. You have no idea on how much time you saved me.

As a rough guide, the Octel Aria (VPS) was never sold in Europe outside of the UK as it was not telecom approved and Octel did not consider the market to be big enough. The Octel Serenade (VMX200/300) was the voice processor of choice particularly for US companies with a presense in Europe as it had been approved prior to the Octel takeover.

The Octel Serenade (VMX200/300)and the earlier VMX-100 were sold in very large quantities by Ericsson all over Europe untill Lucent bought OCTEL (approx. 2001).
In the Northern part of Europe I know quite many installations still running OCTEL 100/20/300 or the Ericsson product name: Voice 100/200/300.
Our company have still about 80 systems running - stable and easy. A good thing for a service provider!
