having trouble with the octel outcalling to a blackberry device. Has anyone setup a paging sequence to a blackbarry?

Not to a blackberry but when you call the pager number for the unit from a phone what do you hear ? is there a tone or is it all voice prompting? most of the time the trouble is with the number of pauses in the pager string

There is one phone number for the device, when it is dialed the phone rings, to page there is a website to access. wondering if there is anyway to get a page to it from an Octel350 without having any special software developed?

the only way to do that is to use EVM software that runs on a OAS server. Sorry but it cost to get this feature. It will send an email to any address to tell you you have a new VM and from who. It will also send the voicemail as a wav file to any email at the same time.

Any idea of a cost estimate for the EVM software? What is an OAS server?

Octel access server used for visual messenger and other apps like EVM. you will need a LAN card in the 350 and the base price for EVM is 10,000.00 i think but i do not do pricing.

I've got it working on my Verizon Blackberry for over a year.

1) Contact the Cellular Provider for your Blackberry. Ask for the "Office Message Alert" feature (that's what Verizon calls it). It is designed to receive calls from systems like Octel then send a custom SMS to the intended Cell Phone number. Depending on your plan, I think the charge is $0.02 per SMS received.

2) The Cellular Provider will provide you with a phone number that you will program into your Octel, much like you do for Pager Outcalling. Verizon gave me a toll-free number, I don't know if it is unique to cell phones registered to Verizon's Chicago MSA or if it is global- so I didn't post it here.

3) In Octel menu 6, Create a pager Dialing Sequence that looks like PPPPC2223335555D where 2223335555 is the external phone number of your voicemail system (Call back number which will diplay on your cell phone).

4) Octel menu 9.1 of your VMbox enter this to the following mailbox fields:
>Outcalling Auth Code: 44466688888 (your cell phone number). The 'C' in step 3 dialing sequence will outpulse the Code you put in this field.
>Outcalling Phone Number: enter the number obtained from the Cellular Provider (step 2)
>Pager Type: enter the single digit Pager Dialing Sequence number built in step 3.

You should test the operation, it may be necessary to fine tune the number of 'P' Pauses in step 3.

On the Blackberry I receive the following Text Message in my mobile e-mail: (this does not show up on my Desktop e-mail)

Callback Number: 2223335555
Office Message Alert

Hope this helps you out.

Sounds great, I believe the majority of our folks are AT&T. I will check anyway. Thanks for the info.
