Can anyone tell me what has to be done fix the frame sync error below. If I clear it out it comes right back. It is not service affecting.

Software Alarms: Enabled Last Clear: 14 JUN 04 06:24:09AM
T - Description Alarm Date Time Count Threshold
S - Frame Sync Error NSA 14 JUN 04 06:24:32AM

Try option 2 or 3 under the Maintenance Menu. This will show more information regarding the error. You can then go to support.avaya.com and do a search for the Aria Status Log Interpretation Guide. This guide will give you detailed information about the log and how to decode the exact problem the system is experiencing.

have you been able to decode the message ? if not post the
error message and i will decode it for you. not from menu 13-8 but from 13-2

KenMeans, There are no errors in 13-2 but this is what it is showing in 13-8. Thanks

what kind of flt cards do you have in the system, and do you have a lan card in it. also what kind of pbx ?

FLT8
We do a have lan card and the status is up
Connected to Avaya G3R

This is not service affecting however. Thanks

Usually the frame error is a sign of a bad port coming from the PBX side or an flt card that is not passing the self test. But you should see an error in menu 13-2. If there is not an entry in 13-2 you can’t decode what the problem is. Are you getting any reports of any kind of problem?? Are you getting any f9 errors in 13-2 or is it complete empty?

Completely empty. haven't seen any errors at all in 13-2 but everyday the frame sync error is in 13-8.

did you ever have a card that was in the system and now it is not ?

when was the last time the system was rebooted ?

All cards are the same as when installed.

Hasn't been rebooted since install date which is a few years ago.

you may want to try a reboot to see if it clears the problem or you may also want to run a garbage collect to see if the user records are all ok also

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I will run the garbage collect and see when we can do the reboot. Thanks again.
