Hello,

Hi Kings1

When you have got a new HDD, then you can use my diskettes for S.1. or S.2, depending on your need:

System software for S.1.1.1-2:
P/N 600-6344-005 (6 diskettes)

English (Great Britain)version 1A prompts.
P/N 600-6315-002 (6 diskettes)
-------
System software for S.2.0.2-2:
I/N 600-6364-014 (3 diskettes)

Model diskette for S.2.0.2-2:
I/N 600-6364-015 (1 diskette)

English (US)version 2G prompts.
I/N 600-6349-002 (7 diskettes)

Did you contact the AVAYA dealer that Jonathan Schofield
mentioned in your own thread?

Jonathan, Dokter

I had contact with Connect Communications but they cannot help me. Do you have another company who have disk's for octel voicemailsystems?

Kings

I have just spoken to Nick Nind from Connect. He is suprised that they are unable to help, however there are some issues. Please email him: nick.nind@connectcs.com

Disks that are not 2gb are very rare, and Avaya will only supply and support a new disk if the system is also upgraded to 4.0.0 software. This is not cheap. I do not know of where else to source disks, but I will check with some other old contacts.

Hi Kings1

I am sorry to say that I don't know.
As the OCTEL 250-i is phased out from both Ericsson and AVAYA, I really don't know how and where you can buy spare parts for the 250-i.
We did newer sell the 250-i in big quantities here in this area. I don't for the rest of Europe.
We primarily sold the OCTEL 100, 200 and 300, as we were more happy installing the "original" OCTEL hardware.

So, good luck.

Hi Kings1, and all,

When I spoke with Jonathan earlier I didn't know it was a Ericsson 250i (actually an Octel200 without the chassis). This uses bespoke drive that Ericcson had made and only they and later Damovo carry spares. I believe in extreme cases it is possible to get thrid party companies to refurbish these units, but personally I would go there!

Damovo is probably your only hope, but I would have thought you would have them already maintaining your MD110?

We do a great trade-in package for MD110's !!!

Best regards

Nick Nind

Hi Nick Nind

Can can you supply the "standard" OCTEL Serenade hardware?
I am thinking about power supplies for OCTEL/VMX 200 and 300
and the standard harddisks for these systems.
I am not asking for the Ericsson/OCTEL Voice 250i, but the "good old standard" hardware from OCTEL.
Please also comment on spareparts for the VMX-100, the small wall mounted voice mail systen from VMX.

kings1,

There may be a trick we used to do in TAC/engineering that may wake up your disk.

When you have it booted from floppy, unplug the hard drive, type in the dsktst <drive> and at the same time you press "enter" insert the hard drive!

May or may not correct the condition..

Hi doktor,

Yes we can supply most parts for Octel 200 & 300, but sometimes struggle with the popular spares for VMX 200 & 300, like hard disks and PSUs.

We also have some spares for VMX100, but its difficult to support customers with these system because of the lack of support from Avaya, and frankly, the lack of engineering experience on these platforms (although I remember many happy days running CAT on my laptop!!). We have a couple of projects on the go at the mo, where we're replacing VMX100s with new MM systems, so we should have spares if you need them.

We should continue in another thread or off-forum.

Hi connectcs / NIck

Still a little out of this forum...
BUT I must admit I was a bit out of focus, as you wrote (quote): (although I remember many happy days running CAT on my laptop!!).
I was using CAT (of course in black/white) on my laptop trying to get 150 pcs VMX-100 system Year-2000 compatible in Decembre 1999.

Another (sad) issue is the fact that we are facing (extreme)lack of engineering experience on these platforms i.ie VMX-100/200/300...

We still have most of our customer with VMX/OCTEL.
We have served them since 1992.

Keep in touch.

Yours doktor
