We have 8 Octel 250/350 spread across the country. We have just had a somewhat legal prblem with envelop information not reporting the proper info.

In a specific location all MB are 5 digits. The main NXX comming into it is 674, our SMDI link receives the last 5 digits. There most MB are 4+last four digits of number.

Whenever someone received a message they were getting "Outside caller" as the envelop info. We found out that if the caller's NXX end with a 4 and his/her last 4 digits of their phone number matches a VM in the system, the envelop saves the MB name as the caller.

For example, when I leave a message in 6741234 using my cell 8347525, when the user of 6741234 hits 5 for envelop info he gets the voice of subscriber 6747525 since 47525 has a MB in that system.

Anyone ever run into this problem and has a fix?

This specific system is connected to a Centrex DMS.

Thanks

there are 2 ways to fix this problem. One is a patch and one can be done in the itergration acceptance tables in menu 6. but it is not in all software releses.

if your menu 6 looks like this
Menu 6 - Dialing and Serial Channel Parameters

1 - Transfer, Outcall, Fax, and Pager Dialing Sequences

2 - In-band Integration Dialing Sequences

3 - Define CPU Serial Channel

4 - MTA (Multiple Terminal Access) Parameters

5 - Integration Link Management

6 - Integration Acceptance Tables
then you can set up a dummy area and office code to match on and all others will not match. i think it came out in 2.05 and above.

Thanks for the tip. We are at vervios 3.11 and I believe you are on the right track. The first system I tried to go into 6.6 and it told me that the area code was not set in menu 1.

I then tried to do it on the system that is giving us problems and that one has the proper area code entered in menu 1. I am a little unsured as to what I need to put in 6.6 to make sure I don't block normal activities. You are refering to dummy area and office codes. Could you expand a little? Thanks much.

if you enter only area code 000 then add office code 000 it will never match on an outside call.

But if your smdi is only sending 5 digits you may have to play with it.

really can't tell you as each case is different. i would have to see the raw TDC data to tell you what to input in the fields. What type of PBX are you on and are you on?

And can you post a TDC trace from an outside call?
