octane does't find display after cloning the harddisk 1

hi there,
after the crash of the Harddisk of an Octane, we took a new harddisk, put it in another Octane and cloned the whole data to the new disk.

Then we stuck it to the defect Octane.
After starting the system, the monitor appeared black.
We can do rlogin to the machine and it seems like everything is working well the only thing is, the system can't find the display.

that sounds like a graphics card issue to me. we have about 250 octanes here and clone all the time when needed without issues. i do know that we have cloned a variety of configs and they plug and play quite nicely. graphics card problems with octanes are not that uncommon. i assume you have tried a different monitor on this machine? have you tried to put the cloned disk in the source machine?
