I have worked on Oracle (mainly backend) for several years and I have done some DBA functions also. I want to get certification. can someone please explain me the process?

Thanks

Check out this link at oracle and get the info straight from the horses mouth:

In general, you are required to take one instructor led class. The preparation for the rest of the OCP exams can be self-study.

That is what I did.

You should go for the 9i OCP, as 8i is being retired as of next December 31st.

Good luck,
Aryeh

Thanks for the info.

I'm little bit confused with exam path.

Could you please tell me the exams you took?

Do I need to take 1Z0-001?

On the candidate guide, it lists both 1Z0-001 & 1Z0-007 are required to become OCP?

Just tell me if I'm correct here.
I take the following exams to become OCP
1. 1Z0-007
2. 1Z0-031
3. 1Z0-032
4. 1Z0-033

Can I take all these exams online?

Please respond.

I did the 8i certification.

I took the following exams:
SQL & PL/SQL
Architecture & Administration
Backup & Recover
Performance Tuning
Network Administration

For 9i you have to take 4 (2 for OCA, 2 for OCP) exams. All exams are taken on-line at authorized testing centers.

OCA exams
Introduction to Oracle9i: SQL
Oracle9i Database Administration Fundamentals I

OCP exams

Oracle9i Database Administration Fundamentals II
Oracle9i Database Performance Tuning

The preparation for the exams can be self-study, but you need to take at least one instructor-led course.
