Call comes into Norstar and intermittently the call drops during mid conversation, light goes out on phone but caller still there, we seize the line again and continue conversation.
New install, Cable modem, Optimum, swapped out to an older vintage trunk card, and problem still excists.
Thanks in advance

I took my volt meter and found 50volts DC across Tip & Ring and off hook it went to 9volts.
I didn't think to check for ring voltage even though I've had a similar problem like this with VOIP lines and voltage.

Could I make any changes in the norstar line programing?

Ok here's my situation I have replaced everything from the 0/32 cabinet to the amphenol cable for the trunks, an older vintage trunk card. line voltage is 50volts DC and Optimum has replaced there cable modem device. Yet the problem still excists
Let me update all on the problem recieve a call or make a call here a click look down @ the set (T7316e) lightis out, we then grab same line light comes on and caller is still there.

Still a line issue sounds like.
You can always test your trunks/cards with an ATA as well.
Try test set or 500 set on the cable modem.

Thanks
Think I'm going to have customer order 1 line from Verizon install it and have them use it along with Optimum, Then we'll know for sure
I'm done fighting Optimum

You have checked the voltage but have you checked the current? Take a look here for problems of what high or low loop current can cause and how to test it.

Symptoms of High Loop Current Include:
Burned Out Key, PBX or Data Equipment
Garbled Data and Modem Failures
Cut-offs & Squealing on Lines
Crosstalk, Echo & Hollow Sounding Lines
Numerous Intermittent Circuit Failures
Off Premise Equipment Problems

I had a customer who had calls dropping off on the KSU. They had bought a new copyier. They movered the old one to a room behind the KSU separted by the wall and when they used it the calls would drop.

I have a customer that has an MICS w/PRI, 5.0 sw and they wanted it set up so all admin phones A/R on line 145. The situation is this, it was reported to me and I even tested it and got the same symptom. If a user is on a call using the intercom path and a call comes in on the DID (line 145), and the user puts their call on hold and answers the second call, then parks the second caller , then pages, after a few minutes the call comes back. At that point an attempt is made to transfer the caller to a flash 2, but the call is dropped. The customer has had this system for at least 10 years and I've been to site many times, but this is the first I've heard of the symptom, the user says its been going on for a long time. Any ideas?
