I have a 18G SCSI HD with NW3.12, but only the first 8G is available in SYS volumn. I read in the forum and looks like I can create a netware volumn above the 8G.
I want to know what is the different between Sys volumn and the netware Volumn.
Thank you.

netware partition is the whole orange
the sys partition is a slice of the orange

the sys on 3.12 i would leave it at say 4gb
i'm a beleiver in sys is for system files only
create data: apps: stuff: mp3: etc volumes

think of it like c:\winnt - do you store data in this directory?

See previous thread "netware 8 gig barrier":

and solution:

ideata.ham from NetWare 4.11SP9 can handle disks above 8GB.
But for the current, and UDMA capable driver, visit:
where you can read an extra story, and get some tips too.
By the way, a 40GB HDD should mirror in 50 minutes or less,
at least for me.

Cheers, Gabor
