Hello forum,

Running Nortel MICS 6.1

Our original Fiber NVM crashed (running 4.0.04C) but I happened to have another in storage (running ver 4.0.04A) I believe I am having an issue with the Redirect DN feature. External calls coming in on the PRI direct to extension are greeted with the option to dial an extension number instead of the users voicemail box.

I understand at one time there was a redirect DN patch available, but I have little hope of finding that these days. I also don't have the software to load up on a laptop. What I do have is direct access to the NVM using the keyboard and monitor. Is it possible to toggle that feature from console, and if so, how can i do that? feat 983 opt 8 is not available on this revision...

You can do it via Norstar Voicemail Manager software if the NAM is setup for networking.

Or download the patch from my site and extract to 3.5 floppy:

If there is an ethernet port, connect to the NAM with a crossover cable. NAM IP address = 192.168.110.10. Set your PC to 192.168.110.11. At the login prompt username = namaccess, password = log2nam

Start Norstar Voicemail Manager. Password = your NAM admin login, for example 1020000.

Program away. I don't remember exactly where the redirect DN is disabled, but poke around on the menu bar and you'll find it.

Running NAM 4.0 with a MICS 6.1 is technically incompatible. Should be 4.1.
