OK, im trying to map out my upgrade path and am just looking for some direction.

i currently have a stand alone Nupoint Ver 12.5.2.9.01 (Release 3) runing on MSL 8.5.16.0.

We will be taking the customer up to 6.0 sp3 on a 3300 and Nupoint to the latest release.

my question is what version am i able to move my usb save from the v12 nupoint over to my new Nupoint and have the data transfer?

can i install MAS with Nupoint and then just do a restore of the voice data? can i restore an MSL back up to MAS?

its going to be a long day of upgrades and want to do as much ahead of time at the shop before going on site to do any work.

Thanks for any insight!

found this in the 4.2 RN

• From NP-UM 3.0 UR1 (12.5.5.x), and 4.0 (14.x) or later – NP-UM 3.0 UR1 introduced support for MSL 9.x version (9.0). NP-UM 4.0 through to 4.2 SP2 also work with MSL 9.x and so the NuPoint system can be upgraded without a fresh install of MSL. You may upgrade the MSL and NuPoint software. Follow the upgrade instructions outlined in the NuPoint Technician’s Handbook.

im off to find the THB

Yes you should be able to take a USB backup of your existing NuPoint and restore it to a new server running 6.0. If it were an older version, that gets tricky, but you're at a recent enough release that it should work.

Should not be a problem for you but read the RN and tech handbook to firm up the procedure.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Anyone else and you need to throw it harder.

i ended up getting it all done. i had to use a different usb stick...thats the trouble i had with the usb backup..it wasnt seeing my usb.

one strange thing after restoring everything though. all of the mailboxes and messages were fine but the greeings just beeped twice and then transfered to the time out locaction. luckily the customer had the wav files so i was able to upload them.

however now users are saying when they transfer a call, they will wait to do a supervised transfer but it wont go to the users voicemail box. it will just beep twice like when it was missign a recording before.

i havent been able to recreate this though. the Call routing goes like this

Ext 3007 CRFA goes to 3*007 which is a second key on the ACD. CFSA is voicemail.

i have a set here that im working with thats set up the same and i always get to voicemail but they keep complaing of this issue. also if they use transfer, voicemail key, then extension it works fine.
