Does anyone know if there is a defrag utillity for the hard drive in the nupoint. I have a customer that is telling me that the voice mail is running very slow. When you press a key to listen to messages it takes any where from 3 to 8 seconds to respond. I had him do the offline verify to reallign the pointers by that did not help. The nupoint is running 7.0 and is not supportted by Mitel tech support. Has anyone experienced this problem, and is there anything that can be done to fix it. Thanks for your help.

there are two ways, a online and offline verify. If you can do an online verify at an off peak time that may be easier.
Go "s" for system maintenance
"u" for system verify
"r" verify records
"a" verify all record
then go back to the System Verify Menu and verify speech "s"
"s" to verify speech
The offline is a little more complicated, the reason to do this at a quiet time is so all mboxes are done, if in use not done.

Thanks Panda, the customer ran both the offline and the online verify, still running slow. I am not sure if there is not something running in the background eating up memory. All of the features and functions work correctly, just takes forever. The other thing is that it only is affecting users in their mailbox. If you call the auto attendant and enter an extension or access the directory there is not delay. Is there any way to do a disk dfrag or is that basically what the verify does?

Thanks

there may be another way but the off line verify is a defrag, I will check my notes and see if I can find something else.
Do you mean the commands are slow to the users in their mboxes or what is slow?

From what I am being told, when the user presses P to play a message there is a 3 to 8 second delay before it responds. Also one user tried to change their greeting and when they pressed G in user options the system waited about 10 seconds and then disconnected the user. I am going on site today to verify the issues.

I would print out the config report and check that out for any programing issues, not sure what issues would cause this but would look over the programing of mboxes and config.
What is the Nupoint integrated with for a switch?

It is using dnic integration into a sx 200EL. I went out threre today and discovered that when a user accesses theie voice mail box and enters their password before the attendant is finished prompting them for it, it is not recognized. If they press 8 for user options and then press 4 for greetings, it does nothing until the attendant finishes giving all the user options. If you wait untill she is finished it accepts the user input. I am going to replace the box with a backup the customer has so I can get them up and running, then reload the software and database. I think there may coruption causing the issue.

Thanks for your help

check your programing in the mail as I am trying to remember if that is a fcos option or system option before changing box

Just wanted to give you an update. I went out again and discovered that two of the ports in the voice mail group would not anser, one of the message waiting ports was locked out, and the users could not get softkey on certain ports. Replaced both DSE cards and rebooted the voice mail. Tested everything and all seems to be back to normal.

Thanks for the info
