Hello,

More of a question than a problem -

Why does NuPoint running on vMAS (or any MAS)need 57 ports for 1000 users when an identical configuration for Standard NuPoint only needs 20?

Just curious...

For Starters, I don't think the MAS version of the Nupoint supports 1000 users. The number I remember is closer to 300.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

vMAS Supports 500 users (Multiple Applications Installed) 250 CPH
or 1000 users (Single Application Installed) 320 CPH

We have just installed a MAS system with NPM 500 users and only have 25 ports. (application connection license) NuPoint is the only Blade installed on this server though. HP DL180G6

How are you getting the configuration? There is no reason the vMAS verision would need more ports then a same sized standalone. The number of ports needed would be based on traffic so there should not be any difference. As others have pointed out the vMAS version will not support the same number of users ( or ports for that matter ) as the standalone systems.

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.

I got the config from the official Mitel Sales Workbench. Configure a NuPoint with 1000 users in vMas and you get a 57 port requirement. I'm going to call Sales Engineering on Monday and find out what is going on. It will just delay my quote by a few hours.
