I have a database with a numeric field where a job number is entered by the user. My problem is that when they enter the our invoice number like 0208001
02=year
08=month
001=transaction

I lose the 0 in 02, how can I make sure that does not happen ? without making that field a text field.?

Thanks

The easiest way would be to set the field's Format property to 0000000 in Access, or you can use the Format() function to set the field format to "0000000" (assuming all of your invoices have 3-digit transaction numbers).
