Hi Everyone,

Can anyone tell me how to create a numbered list in InDesign?

I've figured out how to create something that looks like a numbered list using nested styles but I have to number it manually.

My colleague uses InDesign on the Mac and has a setting in the Paragraph Styles box for bullets and numbers, but that setting doesn't exist on my PC version.

Many thanks

Rachel

Open your paragraph window and click the little triangle for options. Bullets & Numbering should be the last thing on that flyout menu.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4

Depending when and where you bought CD, you may not have the 'bullet' options available to you.

Adobe sold a 'Pagemaker Plugin' for about $40 US that added those options to InDesign CS, but they have discontinued it. I am not sure if it is availble through other vendors. Actually, I am looking for a copy myself. Perhaps someone else in the forum knows where to get it.

Most (if not all) of the features from the PageMaker plug-in pack (and the PageMaker edition of InDesign) have been built into InDesign CS2...the bullets and numbering options being one of them. Not sure which version of InDesign you're using, rachelj.

Flashdharma, you might try eBay or craigslist for a used copy of the PM plug in pack. If I didn't actually use CS on occasion, I'd sell you mine.
