Hi experts,

I am trying to play back the number entered by the caller as DTMF using Speak text action.
I assigned the DTMF($KEY) to a variable CPx(CP0)

I added a speak text action and under specific/ text to speak i gave <spell>$CP0</spell>

When i call the the IVR enter a number 1234, the system is playing back to me : Double Quotes One two three four Double Quotes.
I want the system to play One Two Three Four, i don't know from where the system is getting " Double Quotes "

I tried assigning the DTMF to user defined variable and tried to play back that variable, still the system plays Double quotes before and after the DTMF number.
Voicemail Pro 9
Avaya IPO Release 9
System has Generic TTS (8 port) , there is no Avaya or Scansoft TTS.
Please advice.

iam happy i am here...

don't use the speak text action but just add an entry prompt (in a menu or generic or wherever you want to get the call to go after that) and make it $CP0

Just tested what you described, no issues at all.
What version is your VMPro? 9.0.xx.yy

Kind regards

I knew you would test it :) I don't have a R.9 license for home so I didn't want to test it on my R8.1 because they break different things in different releases

Gunnar,
i have same setup working in another version of voicemail pro
I have issues in this Version
Voicemail Pro 9.0.300.212
Voicemail Pro 9.0.3
build 212
Please advice.

iam happy i am here...

You only have to add $KEY.wav in a generic after the menu, no need to use $CPx

It works! Now if only I could remember what I did...

And the $KEY in a Generic> Prompt spells it a lot better than the "Speak text".

Thanks Gunnaro..

So shall i replace Speak Text with Generic and add $KEY under the entry prompts of generic.
CAn i just ass a $KEY prompt here?

iam happy i am here...

I would put my ass in a prompt if I were you [bigsmile]

But yes, just fill in $KEY as the prompt, VMPro will understand that perfectly well..

(And to be fair, Westi was the one that came up with the suggestion)

If this doesn't work, you have a bad install on your hands.
Reinstall or do a complete new install with the same version that you have going on the other site.

Kind regards

Gunnar

Sorry for the typo ,,,,,
Gunnaro i am working with Arabic and English prompts...
System is playing the DTMF i enter in English correctly,
I have selected en and enu language and assigned en fo ARABIC and enu ENGLISH...
Now i want to replace the system prompts for numbers in en with new wav files that are recorded in Arabic (Numbers from 0-9, 10 seperate files ).
which files i should replace in the en folder to achieve this?

iam happy i am here...

Ha ha, yeah I kind figured that out, couldn't resist[smile]

You are referring to this thread940-1738031 I presume?

Run the Dbgview.exe to see what's going on.
If you haven't done it before, it's time for you to learn it now[smile]

We see that the file names you want to replace are: NO_xx.wav

Be careful not to replace the wrong files.
If your system is set to English UK, then the Arabic should go in ENU.

Remember that you need to put a Language Selection-action somewhere before the read out, or else it will just follow the default setting of the system.

Kind regards

Gunnar

DONE and working ....

Thank you very much ...

Awesome help!!!

iam happy i am here...

Fantastic!

Keep in mind that future upgrades might ruin your custom setup, replacing the files or even have new file names.

- If it's just replacing the files, load them back in.

- On name changes, you need to start from scratch.
(highly unlikely they will do this, but you never know).

Kind regards

Gunnar
