Hello,

Does anyone have a good rule or matrix he/she uses for determining how many PRIs are needed to support a site.

Thanks.

That could vary like the wind. Lots to take into consideration. Will there be a Call center? Does everyone need their own DID number? Do they want dedicated resources for local and/or long distance? Will there be inbound 800 #'s, the list goes on and on. I have seen offices with 200 people with a single PRI and then I have seen offices with 100 people that have 4 PRI's. No real rules here as far as I know. You can always add if blocking is an issue.

if you want to go technical on it:

Trunk traffic Erlang B with P.01 Grade-of-Service

it's in the planning and engineering guide.

Here is a online calculator.
BHT is "How many hours of calling occur during the busy hour". For example, if six people talk 30 minutes between 10AM and 11AM, that was 3 hours of traffic, or 3 Erlangs.

Doing traffic for a factory, vs a brokerage, vs any other business is just as KCFLHRC posted - there is no set answer. You know you need at least one.
