Hi ,

I have written a query and I'm trying to paste it in a command object. The query gets truncated and I'm unable to paste the full query inside the command object.

I manually removed the blank spaces and still doesnt fit in.

Is there any restriction on the number of lines a command object can take in . Can you please let me know.

Thanks.

Interesting question, I wasn't aware of one.

So it doesn't error, it just truncates it at some point?

Paste the query into a formula (if possible) and do a LEN({@MyQuery}) to see how long it is.

I also suggest using Views instead of a Command object as it provides for greater flexibility (reusability: other tools can use it), and simplified maintenance.

Thank you very much for giving me inputs.

I checked the size of query file and it is 66 kb.

I'm trying to tweak my query and reduce the size. Will keep you posted.

Thanks again .

Alias table references - that can reduce the length of the statement...

Visual CUT & DataLink Viewer:
view, e-mail, export, burst, distribute, and schedule Crystal Reports.

Thanks to both of you... my query in command object is working. I removed unwanted blank spaces and used aliases for tables and reduced the query file size to less than 64 KB.
