Greetings,
I have four lists of people that I contact for various things and the lists have from 120 to 240 addresses. My ISP limits me to 50 maximum addresses per message so I have to break the lists down into groups of less than 50 and send multiple messages. I have contacted their tech support and they say to bad. I have a couple of sites hosted on ipage and get the same response from them.
Is there any way of improving the process? I have heard there are services like constant contact but they are overkill for what I need and also have cost associated with their use. I was thinking of a mail server but that will be a challenge I may have to undertake but am hoping there is something a little easier. I have computers running windows and Linux. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If you're using POP3 or IMAP4, you're likely to run into problems like that just about anywhere.

A provider like Constant Contact would probably be a LOT easier than setting up a mail server just for this.

That's one of the biggest problems trying to host business websites on "domestic style hosting".

We decided long ago that under no circumstance would we EVER sell hosting to the lowest common denominator. As the limits we would have to set to prevent our servers getting blackholed would be too restrictive for our business clients. So we allow 1100 messages per hour per domain. :D

The answer?
1: Pay for a list manager service such as Aweber, MailChimp or ConstantContact.

2: Pay for business class hosting where restrictions are not so limiting.

3: Lease a VPS or a dedicated box. There of course you will need to monitor Black Hole services carefully.

And hopefully you're not a budding spammer and this is legitimate emails that people are wanting to receive.

We'd hate to help anyone add to the spam load on the interwebz.

I am not a spam wanna be. All of my lists are non-business related. I would just like to make sending emails less of a pain. The good news is I discovered Gmail has a 500 address limit. I now have four Gmail accounts, one for each group. Thank you for the responses.
