Number of connection

Hello,

when I want connect to our definity using Avaya Site Administration i get error
Communications error:No ports available.
I try connect using telnet with result:
Resources not available
Connection closed by foreign host.
After thinking and searching I discover using 'status logins' condition when this situation occur. If 8-9 connection established, next does not until some
established connection dispose.
We using two port to connect 6000 and 6001 and connecting to 6000 or 6001 has no effect.

We have version:
System: G3xV11 Software Version: R011x.03.0.526.5

Do you know how increase limit 8-9 connection?

Avaya has told us that only 5 can log in at same time with same login on SI and it cant be changed. We have run into locking up ports and cant get in till we reset. Avaya has told us that is because we were Xing out of ASA not loging off first, closing then disconnecting. This has cleaned up our lock out issues on SI's

We have not problem with "Avaya has told us that only 5 can log in at same time with same login" because I can log in with the same login 9 times if other user not connected. And if I use 9 diferent logins (user1,user2, user3, ... user9), there is problem with login user10!.

user10 get message "Resources not available" before
server propmt to login:

telnet definity234 6001

Trying xxx.yyy.aaa.bbb....
Connected to definity234.
Escape character is '^]'.
Resources not available
Connection closed by foreign host.

And there`s no propmt for user!

This happened to me. What they told me is that this happens when you're logged in and you don't log out normally. They informed me that it is important to logoff and do not leave the session logged in. The way I corrected it was to reboot the system. I now make sure that I logoff at the end of each day.

logout is no problem.

We develop java library API to connect to DEFINITY. This API we use in our intranet. For better fast access we use connection pooling (max=3 connection), but we have 3 DEFINITY administrator (every use max 2 connection from ASA), intranet use max 3 connection,
and if we develop some new application we use connection too.

thence it follows 9 connection limit is to small for us.

Do you know how increase connection limit?

There is an Avaya identified problem in the G3r with that load of software not releasing IP connections after the user has disconnected. There is a patch that can be downloaded by Avaya. If you log into the switch through the SAT and do 'status logins' it will show you all of the established login connections. If there are any that are 'hung-up' you can do a 'reset login x' where 'x' is the ID on the right-hand side of the page.

There is a finite number of administrative logins available. This was done to limit the ammount of processor capacity used by admin tasks.

In 'status logins' output I not see any 'not release IP', all rows belong to corect connection.

How large is the value of "finite number of administrative logins"?
