Good morning. I've got a table with a string field that looks like this:

ProductName
G2301
M2398
40002

The output for ProductName omits the last value.

How can I get this "number" to print in the report?

Thanks.

YOu are going to have to be more specific.
ProductNmae is a string field. Just because the string is infact numerical will not cause it to not print.

(Sorry about the double negative)

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll be glad to give you any specifics you might need. I'm using Crystal 9. The report uses Excel as it's data source. The spreadsheet shows a number in the field in question. It's a string field and every other cell in that field (with the exception of one) starts with a character. When I display the field in Crystal, all the other entries are displayed (with the exception of one....the cell that was entered with all numberals). I created a test excel spreadsheet (what I gave you above/below) to see if it was that particular worksheet that was the problem. It wasn't. The "number" doesn't appear on the new report either. It seems like this should be an easy fix....but I'm not finding it.

Thanks again.

This is a know issue with the jet engine. Columns of mixed data types, TEXT & NUMBERS, will only import one or the other.

Just FORMATTING a range of numbers in Excel as TEXT changes NOTHING. The underlying value is still a number!

Change the number to a string, by appending an APOSTROPHY before the digits.

Is there a way to enter a formula in crystal that will convert the number to text (ToText didn't work)?

Thanks for the info on text/ number known issue...did not know that.
