Null instance handle

I have a parallel report with eight subs which fails with the following:

Running...
Starting...
Generating SelectionReport002.roi ...
Connecting...
Generating...
(Previous line repeated 9 times.)
Basic Error: 6 Module: C:\Program Files\Actuate7\ErdPro\afc\pagelist.bas Line: 1302 Use of a Null instance handle. Do you want to debug?


Does anyone have any pointers that will put me on the right track?

You are probably trying to do a calculation with a NULL value. Set the initial value to zero.

This has appeared very early in the report's development. So far there is one table in each sub and no variables. I perform no calculations at all.

As far as I was aware a null instance handle is caused by referring to a component not included. I have looked and no such references exist.

It is a waking nighmare!
