Is there anything special about the SIMMS used on the processor daughter board. We have to upgrade the memory and the Nortel price is horendous.

i've used off the shelf simms, normally the user has already purchased the upgrade kit so i don't tell then that they paid a 'little' to much.. my job is not to unsell product, that has already been explained to me in detail. be very sure that you check the eng manual, the ram size has to match the chart or she doesn't come up.. bigger is not better, strange, in a pc i always stuff all the ram in that will fit.. don't try that on a nortel... just upgrade one side boot it and test a little, then boot into it, test some more. if it looks clean MATCH the other side...

The price is horendous yes, but it will work with theese prices. If it's nortel it's always something proprietary with everything.

I've had to go with the Nortel price. Suprise suprise wont be supported if not Nortel supplied. How did I guess that.

yes that was a given, with the current trends in a few years nortel will not support anything if it has been taken out of the box
