I have start the linux ntp service and I assure the linux server can ping the time server, but when I run ntptrace, it show timeout, can everybody help. Thanks.

p.s. run ps -ef, ntpd can be found, ntp.conf was modified and point to time server.

Are you logging and debugging (man ntpd)? Try this first before asking for help. That's what anyone here would do to fix the issue.

You also have to make sure that you accept destination port 123 packets in bound in your iptables.
