My current firewall which is Squid running on it is setup to be a NTP Server too. Well I just recently disconnected the ethernet cable on my phone system simply because it was doing anything and we werent connecting into it through TCP/IP.
But I am currently running HPUX, Windows, and Linux OS's here. I would like the PBX Phone system to be a NTP Client. What programming or what do I do to setup the PBX Phone System to run on my network and request Date/Time from one of my server, if it be Windows, HPUX, or Linux. Either way, I would like my Phone System to be a NTP Client. My phone system's time is drifting. And yes to the answer on VoIP. We have a T1 line connected into it, through our local isp.
in ld 2 you can set up a clock adjustment that drifts the clock in either direction to compensate for the problem, you can also right a script that accesses the switch through a serial port and does a clock sync back to a server, i have used aspect script files in procomm for this. the ethernet connection on your switch is used for something else. FYI.. pri is not voip.
