Dear All :
I have a linux Box ( Redhat Server 2.3 )and I want to synchronize its time with Windows 2000 NTP Server ,

How can I do this ..

I made some steps :
1- edit the file [/b]/etc/ntp.conf[/b]
[green]server myserver_IP_Address prefer # local clock
server 127.127.1.0 # local clock
fudge 127.127.1.0 stratum 2
driftfile /etc/ntp/drift
multicastclient # listen on default 224.0.1.1
broadcastdelay 0.008
authenticate no [/green]

what shall I do then ?

Eric, Agreed and agreed. I would love to see netwalker try to time sync with ntpdate against "ntp.nasa.gov" or whatever time server is favorable to the locale.

As Eric points out, if that works, I think we'll be looking into other issues.

One note, I think that ntpdate is funny about adjusting time when the local clock is WAY off. I don't have any facts to back this up, but I think if your local clock is months off you might have troubles. Consider manually setting the local clock via "date" to something close to the expected time to offset any risk of this possible non-issue.

No, ntpd is finicky about trying to drift the clock if it's way outta whack, but ntpdate works fine for any offset.
