Anyone know a good way to resolve this problem ?

1) I try recovery console , but i cant make dir comand or copy comand.

2) I try repair installation but the system cannot find a windows 2000 installation on disk.

I can install again windows 2000 but this is the last option.

Thanks
Nelson

get a 98 boot disk and copy over from another W2K pc

You can only use a win98 boot disk if you aren't using NTFS filesystem.

If your window 2000 can't find the installtion path trying to do an upgrade it sounds a bit more serious than just that file missing.

If you have another Windows 2000 or XP machine you can put the drive in there and then copy the NTOSKRNL file to the drive with the problem on it.

While you have the drive in the other system I would recommend you to do some disk checks as it could be a cause of faulty disk that caused the problem in the first place.
