Ok, Im getting this message <Windows> system32\ntoskrnl.exe is missing or corrput, Please re-install a copy of the above file.
Prior to this message my computer was working fine, but I dediced to install a new motherboard, and a processor, put everything together and I get this message when I boot up my machine. My mother sent to computer to the local computer shop and she said the guy plugged in his monitor and everything was working fine???
I read a similar thread to this one but I cant find a working computer with xp around to save me life. Anyone have any other tips to get me through this. I almost decided to format my computer but I didnt know all the steps to do so.

Yes - there are lots of other posts. Best not to move a hard drive from one motherboard to another with the operating system intact - because of the drivers. If you do, there are numerous bits of advice about how to prepare the operating system while still using the old motherboard, eg:-

or just do a repair reinstall (doesn't always work) -
There's also a FAQ here - - giving details of how to edit registry if you have access from another installtion of XP (eg, a parallel one). This is for 2k, but should apply to XP.

Having said that, you might be better off just doing a clean reinstall (assuming you can back your data up first).

The easiest and quickest solution is to REPAIR XP (not ASR).Boot from your XP cd.
1.do you want to install.......Yes
2.windows has been detected do you want to repair....press R

3.Takes about 25 mins but you don't lose any work/programs

Ya that is the easiest way but I dont have the disk that came with windows xp because its a burned copy.
