When i start up my computer it goes through everything normally, but after it detects all the hardware and goes onto the next screen to start windoes it says that NTLDR is missing. It says to reboot but that does nothing. ANy suggestions would be welcomed.
NTLDR refer to the boot file. You should be able to run XP setup and select recover instead of install. XP will locate your previous install and as you to select the OS to recover. You'll need to know the "Administrator" users password. You should reach the recovery console (looks like a DOS prompt) and type fixmbr tor estore the boot record. Thimay erradicate any other boot files from other OSes
Don't take this wrong, but I am asking because this is what I was doing when I got this error message -- is there a disk in the A: drive? That's right, I did it and could have kicked myself when I realized what it was.
