Hi guys,

Does anyone know how I can try and recover a system that is booting up with a message stating Ntldr is missing.

I have tried emergency disks and the repair facilty from the w2k disks but to no avail. I am now at the point where I don't want to be and that is to do a complete installation.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Is there a floppy disk stuck somewhere.

I had this problem and it was a disk that was in my disk drive.
I'm sure you have probably thought of this, but it helped me.

I did look for a disk. There was one stuck but managed to take out.

Any advice is welcome. Cheers

You'll get that error if you have a non system disk in the drive. You said you found a disk in the drive, when you removed it and rebooted, does the error still appear?

I've had this problem,

I've never been able to restore the system, I've always had to reinstall.

If you need the data off the disk you can install the system to a different directory, boot up and save the data.

Or

Put the disk into another PC, boot up using the other PC' OS and get the data that way.
