I was told, by my boss, to format all harddrives on our one server that was running Windows 2K advanced server, and to re-install it. I formatted one of the drives, then went to the D drive, and was told that I could not do so since the current volume is in use. I went to the C:, what the heck, we're starting over anyway right? I received the same error message, but then entered "Y" to dismount the volume. I restarted the computer, with hopes or installing Win 2k advanced server, and I got the message, "NTLDR is missing, press ctrl+alt+delete to restart. This keeps me in a loop. I heard from somewhere to run the repair option when starting the setup.exe. I did so, and got the message, setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer. If I try to set up the installation, I get the same message. All drives are NTFS by the way. Any suggestiong?

some SCSI controllers require third party mass storage drivers to be installed prior to W2K attempting to write files to the disk. Find out what type of controller your server has, get the proper driver off the web, put it on a floppy, and rerun W2K's setup (boot from CD). At the beginning of the setup, you'll see a little blurb at the bottom of the screen saying to press F6 to install third party drivers...Do that! Good Luck!

Why not fresh install Win2k advance, set the BIOS to boot from CD. Repartition, format the drive and install it fresh.
