Against my better judgement, I loaded an old copy of NTI CD-Maker on my computer. I went to NTI's website and downloaded and installed an update to my version. When I clicked on the icon to run the program, I recieved the blue screen of euthanasia, the one that kills Windows XP, (not the blue screen of death). After trying several things to get it running, I decided to go to add/remove programs, and once again I received the blue screen of euthanasia the instant I clicked on control panel. The only way to get to add/remove programs was to start in safe mode. (Incidentally, the help screen in my version of Windows XP is totally wrong on how to start in safe mode.) I was able to delete NTI's CD-Maker from my computer, but I still get the blue screen when I click on control panel. The blue screen says, "A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer." The technical information says, "ASPI32.sys - Address f8a44825 base at F8a44000, date stamp 2ff6ee96.
What have I done and how do I fix it. Thanx in advance.
