i recently started doing local backups of the system using NTbackup. Only this time its taking a considerably longer time to complete. Why is "server\Microsoft Information Store\ First Storage Group" taking over 13 hours to run? how can i go about fixing this?

How large are your exchange databases?

What are you backing up to?

Anything in the event logs?

Exchsrvr folder is 1.29 GB

backing up to external Hard drive(sata-usb)

no warnings or errors in the event log

excuse me exchsrvr is 22.5 GB for private
and exchsrvr is 1.29 for public
