NT8D09 Loop Length

Does anyone know the maximum loop length on a NT8D09 card? I see the NTP states "1000 ¾ at nominal –48 V" - so is that a 1,000 feet? or does it depend on the REN number of the analog phone?

Thanks. What approximate distance does this translate into using Cat3 wiring with no taps?

A very long way. You are talking 1000s of metres

I believe the loop lenth is just under one mile when using 22 to 24 awg wire all the way.

Google "loop length" and "awg" and you will find a table in a book (Telecommunication System Engineering by Roger L. Freeman) which shows loop resistance (in ohms/1000 ft or ohms/km) for various gauges of wire.
