Would someone please tell me how to find out which domain controller an NT machine in a network is using to log on. How can I also force the machine to log on using a different DC.

Thank you in advance.

ok.....hopefully i'm not being to dim and i'm presuming your machine is logging onto the wrong domain.

goto settings>control panel>network and stay on the configuration tab. The first option in the list should be "Client for Microsoft networks", click on the properties of this, and then change the name of the NT domain to the one you want to use. Click apply/Ok and bobs your uncle.....unless of course you dont have an uncle called bob.

If you are running a logon script from the netlogon share of your domain controllers, that logon script should be running in a command box. The top of the command box should display the server name that is authenticating the logon.
