I just set up WINS on the PDC in my NT domain(running TCP/IP and DHCP). I put the WINS server address in the network settings on my NT Workstation machine, but now the machine cannot log on to the domain. Any idea what might have caused this?

My WINS database and DHCP server are both showing an IP address for the NT Worksation 4.0 machine. This is the only machine running NT Worksation.

Thanks!

Try removing WINS address from NTWkstn network settings and try to login to the domain - it should be able to pick it up through broadcast. Also - see if you can ping the ip address of WINS server and domain's FQDN (i.e. - pdc1.mydomain.com).

Regards!

Thanks for the response. Actually, we renamed the the NT workstation and then it worked fine. Still trying to figure it out. But thanks for the suggestion.
