I've seen all the threads on login scripts, but they are all dependent on the subpages using Cold Fusion. For one of my client sites, they want to add NT security to a subdirectory/section to prevent access to unauthorized users. The files in these subdir are all HTML, not CF so I can't use the great login examples already provided.

Is there a way to pass a user name and password from CF to NT?

We had a similar problem: pdf, doc, htm etc. (essentially anything NOT cfm) files which had to be secured, but in some way viewable. NT accounts simply were not an option due to the several hundred users required for the system.

Our solution was to place these files outside the web root and use cfcontent to pull them for viewing.

We used cfdirectory to list them and then we hyperlinked them.

This may not be exactly what you need, but the same concept applies - users cannot access these files through the web, but can through cfm files using cfcontent (these cfms are of course secure)

All the best
