Hello All,
I have one cluster based on Win2K with 2 physical nodes and Legato Networker server (6.1.2, Sun Solaris 8). How many licences do I need for my current environment for cluster now and after upgrade to Legato NetWorker server 7.1?
Thanks in advance.

You need a cluster license for each physical node in any cluster.

Hi,

You need 1 Cluster Client Connection for Windows.
1 Cluster-client-Connection is for 1 Host with 2 physically nodes. Virtuall nodes to not need a Cluster-Client-Connection License.

Interesting, two different answers..... Which one is it ? My sales rep. told me I need two cluster client licenses, one for each physical node...
And a nsrlic against the server tells me I have two and both are used...

You need 2 Cluster Client Connections for Windows, 1 for each physical node.

1 CCC per physical machine is correct. The virtual machine, if correctly configured, will never use any license.

yes, one cluster lisence per pysical node

????
THIS IS WRONG!!!!!

A cluster client connection is for 2 PHYSICALLY-NODES.

Ask Licensing if you don't know. Call Legato Austria if you don't know.

Well,

we have 3 Two-Node-NT-Clusters and have 6 NT Cluster Licenses all are in use in nsrlic.

So you need 1 license per node.

Be aware that the licensing model was different for NW 5.
To my knowledge, Legato provided the 3rd CCC for free.

In NW 6 and 7, at least if you start with a new installation,
it is 1 CCC/physical node to comply with the general NW
scheme (1 license per host).
